From ancient times to the present, 'Monsters' have played a crucial role in art, history, and literature, representing images of the unknown, fear, fantasy, and mystery. The mythical monster figures passed down from ancient myths highlight humanity's curiosity about the mysterious unknown. In modern culture, monster characters reflect profound reflections on contemporary society, technological progress, and human nature. This exhibition will present the theme of monsters through various media and perspectives.
Renowned artist Daniel Lee will showcase his latest variant works, emphasizing the diversity and variability of species images. Meanwhile, Japanese artist Yuki Ideguchi, with his unique perspective, reinterprets traditional Japanese monsters, blending traditional techniques with modern elements to explore a unique viewpoint on monster imagery. Argentine artist Luciano Polverigiani, proficient in using South American traditional ceramic materials, creates stunning monster dolls. Additionally, young American artist Nick Weddell, exhibiting for the first time in Taiwan, introduces his innovative and free-spirited monster works, injecting more vitality and creativity into the exhibition.
