Dah-in Life weekend market held on 19 November at Tamsui District, next to the Art Box Museum. The market showcased various handmade gifts from local artisans, environmental friendly vegetables, fresh fruits, and mouth-watering snacks. With so many vendors to choose from, and a relaxed morning vibe, there’s truly no better place to start a cozy weekend holiday.
“The concept of buying local agricultural products has been promoted in recent years,” said Amanda, the organiser of weekend market. “Using local ingredients is not only good for our health but can reduce carbon footprints. ”Amanda said, there are actually many people care about the environment, and this is also the driving force for her to hold this activity.
Margaret Shiu, the founder of Bamboo Curtain Studio, also helped Amanda gather local farmers to take part in the weekend market. “There are more and more people choose to live a LOHAS lifestyle and willing to get close to the land,” said Margaret Shiu, ”This is a kind of compensate of the relationship between human and environment.”
One of the vendors, MyDeli Bakery agreed the core concept of market as well. “We want to convey our pure, simple and environmental friendly attitude of the bakery through this weekend market.” said Zhou Xiao Jie, the owner of MyDeli Bakery.
